This one definitely falls in the “want vs. need” category. I already have several of these albums on either vinyl or cd, but the ones that I don’t have almost justify the overlap.

The Perfect Jazz Collection Box Set ($45) contains 25 of the most influential and important Jazz albums including Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, Billie Holiday’s Lady in Satin, and Charlie Parker’s Bird. Each album is packaged in a card wallet, and the box set includes a 40 page booklet in both English and French.

If Jazz isn’t quite your thing, don’t worry, there is a Blues Collection ($45) as well featuring the work of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Aretha Franklin, Muddy Waters and more.

Like I said I’m torn, because on the one hand I would love to listen to all these albums on my computer at work. On the other hand, I would relish in the treasure hunt to find all of these albums on vinyl. But for only $45, it might be worth the purchase just to tide me over until I can find them all.
