Another item that ranked rather high among my Christmas gifts this year was the Overlander Bag from Carbon 2 Cobalt.

The Overlander leather bag can be used as a workbag, travel bag, a laptop bag, or as a university book bag. In addition to the huge lockable main compartment (6” deep), which is perfect for carrying a laptop, books or clothes, there is an expandable (2.5”) front compartment ideal for paperwork or a newspaper, and a zipped front compartment. The leather satchel style bag also has a small front pocket ideal for a mobile phone. Each bag has been handmade and features strong double stitching and a tough canvas lining as well as an adjustable super wide comfortable 62” shoulder strap.

I first found out about Carbon 2 Cobalt after accidentally receiving a catalog meant for the previous owner of our house. Their collection is full of items that are casually rugged, with a slightly old-word yet stylish look to them and I’ve always enjoyed flipping through each new catalog that arrived. While searching for a new laptop bag, I knew I wanted to transition to a leather satchel but was having a hard time finding a nice one for under $200. I saw this one in the catalog and knew that it was the one for me. I think a nice leather bag is a great investment because they are build to last and never really go out out of style. In fact the more worn they get, the better they tend to look. I know I look forward to using mine for years to come.
