While it’s often said that clothes make the man, one must remember that what’s underneath can be just as important. However, when it comes to undergarments, finding quality products at reasonable prices, as well as a comfortable buying experience, is something that is often overlooked in menswear. Mack Weldon sought to fix this problem when their created their own line of daily wear basics. A fusion of old world craftsmanship and modern day technology, Mack Weldon offers an exclusive line of mens underwear, t-shirts, and socks for the discerning gentleman. I was curious however if the products were truly worth the hype. So I contacted Mack Weldon and they were kind enough to send me some samples of their collection for a Dandy test drive.

I quickly received a pair of boxer briefs, briefs, trunks and a v-neck t-shirt in the mail and one of the first things I noticed about Mack Weldon was their attention to detail. Subtle design cues like conspicuously placed branding throughout the products, great color schemes, new design twists on the classic t-shirt which reduce puckering at the shoulders, as well as technological advancements like their 18-hour jersey fabric which promotes moisture and odor management. After several washings the products maintained their shape quite well, and after the first washing the t-shirt fit perfectly. The jersey material of the undergarments was extremely comfortable… not too tight, not too loose, and perfect if like me, your pants are of the tighter-fitting variety. The boxer briefs stay in place quite well, so you’re not constantly having to pull them down your legs which is a problem I often have with boxer briefs. I must say that for me, the trunks were the most comfortable as far as a day-to-day wearable item, but depending on your level of activeness the briefs or boxer briefs may be more your style.

While their  product looks great, fits great and feels great, Mack Weldon knows that the actual shopping experience should be as comfortable as their garments. The web-based functionality of the brand allows for a more convenient way of purchasing these much-needed items and there is also an auto-replenishing option so the dreaded act of shopping for basics is virtually eliminated. Would I recommend this product to my readers? Absolutely. If you are looking for a quality product, at an affordable price, with an effortless buying experience, look no further than Mack Weldon.

The full line is available now at mackweldon.com which currently includes T-Shirts ($22-$32) Underwear ($19.50-$24) and Socks ($12) each in an assortment of tasteful colors.
