Harris Tweed is kind of blowing up huge lately, with every company seemingly eager to integrate the “Champagne of Fabrics” into their collection and rightfully so–because it’s awesome. However, I wonder if it’s becoming too much of a good thing? Does the fabric loose it’s mystique and desirability if it’s suddenly everywhere from wallets, headphones, jackets, shoes and even cars? I don’t necessarily think so. I love all of this stuff. Not that you need to be covered from head to toe with tweed (unless it happens to be a certain cycling event) but a few key wardrobe items spread out throughout the week (especially during the Fall and Winter months) is never a bad thing.
UPDATE: Walmart now reportedly has begun stocking Harris Tweed Blazers in select stores. This may be the beginning of the end…Thoughts?
