RPMWEST is looking to change the way we shop for jeans online with a little help from Kickstarter. Using the finest Japanese selvedge denim and American-made trimmings, RPMWEST assemble their jeans in San Francisco. By cutting out the middle man and selling directly to the consumer, RPMWEST is able to offer their denim at a wholesale price of $95.
The jeans come in two available cuts: the NEW CLASSIC and SLIM STRAIGHT. The NEW CLASSIC is a more modern, flattering take on the classic 5-pocket fit. These have a normal rise and a straight leg. The SLIM STRAIGHT, compared to the New Classic, has a lower rise and a slimmer silhouette from the hip to the leg opening.
Now here is where it gets interesting. One of the biggest hurdles for me with online shopping is figuring out how the clothes will fit. Even with size charts, it’s always a gamble that something won’t fit right and you have to send it back after waiting forever for it to arrive. You then have to wait another two weeks for it to come back and it just goes on and on like that for god knows how long. This aggravation alone is part of the reason I rarely shop online. However, RPMWEST offers a special Home Try-On program where the customer can select 3 different sizes in order find the perfect fit. Keep the one that fits and send back the two that, don’t free of charge. Boom. Online jean shopping simplified.
If you’re looking for an American-made selvedge denim for under $100, you would be hard pressed to find a better deal than RPMWEST. There are only 5 days left on their Kickstarter and they’ve already vastly exceeded their goal. Definitely seems worth checking out.
