Recently I was contacted by Creative Recreation, a lifestyle footwear brand, to see if I would be interested in giving one of their latest cap designs a Dandy Test Drive. I’ll admit, at first I wasn’t very impressed by their selection, but I did see a ripstop camper that looked decent enough. After receiving it in the mail a short time later, I was impressed by both the quality of the hat and more importantly, the fit. Campers have been a big trend the last few years, although lately their popularity has been waining since buckets have made such a big comeback. I’ve never had much luck finding one that fits properly, but I can honestly say that the ones by Creative Recreation are among some of the best fitting campers I’ve ever tried. The visor has a nice stiff board which folds nicely, and the suede accents combined with the forest coloring give the hat a nice rustic, militant look and feel. With all the outdoorsy trends happening right now, this camper from Creative Recreation is great hat for Fall – or for just tinkering in your workshop.

The only thing about the hat that seems a little off is the back clasp which is extended off the end of the cap, making it look like it’s floating in the middle of the strap. It just looks a bit strange and doesn’t seem necessary. Aside from that, if you’re looking for a nice rustic hat for Fall, check out The Leatherback Camper from Creative Recreation.
